The doors have no knobs or handles, but open by applying light pressure.
Just got this.Very nice size at 19 5/8 deep and versatile. Using it in home office as small desk. will get another, if possible, for use as a small dining table for two in Sunroom.
Got this for $75 off in "as is" section for minor nicks and dings. It works perfectly after several months of use. We extend it once or twice a week when we entertain and collapse when we get around to it. Pros: Works as described. Very handy for small apartments where you don't want to take up the space to seat 6 when you're not entertaining. The fakey birchey finish harmonizes well with all our other fakey birchey Ikea stuff. Cons: Your knees might bump the under table hardware which has sharp corners. Also, "seats 6" is not "seats 6 or 7 if you squeeze" as it is for most tables. You can fit 6 people tops.
We bought this table as it was supposed to seat at least six people when extended. The problem is that when the table is extended the legs end up being right where you would need to place the additional chairs. So somebody has to sit uncomfortably with the table leg directly in front of them. Its our fault for not noticing before we bought it. Other than that is a good table and works very well for 4 people when collapsed.
We bought one of the cheap dining table sets. After about a month of uncomfortable meals we decided to upgrade. This table is the perfect size for a family of four. The extra sections are pretty easy to insert. When we have family and friends over we can comfortably fit 8 people. You might need two people to to pull out and extend table top.
